Grand Avenue West will be closed later this morning from Lacroix Street to Keil Drive North for an “extended period”
A large sinkhole was discovered under the westbound lanes and has been down to two lanes for a few days, but now the road is set for a full closure.
The closure will only affect through traffic, local traffic will still be permitted up to each side of the repair site and all businesses will still be open and accessible.

A long week of hot and humid temperatures and crazy weather conditions has finally passed.
No Heat Warning (so far) Some rain this morning, then clear and sunny for the rest of the week.
Temps peak at 30C (86F) on Thursday and they peak on the weekend when it will feel like 36 with the humidex.
Canada’s Walk of Fame 2019 inductees were announced late last week.
Ernie Coombs aka Mr. Dressup, architect Frank Gehry and Olympic speedskater Cindy Klassen, rock band Triumph, actor Will Arnett, Hockey Hall of Famer Mark Messier, Dragons’ Den entrepreneur and Boston Pizza founder Jim Treliving and the late physician and basketball inventor Dr. James Naismith will be added to the Walk of Fame in November.
Two more inductees will be revealed at a later date.
The induction ceremony will take place on November 23rd.

Pampers is launching a new line of smart diapers this fall. The diapers can track when your baby pees and will report it to you immediately on your smartphone app. The diapers can’t detect poop.
The diapers can also track a baby’s sleep patterns and will record those on the app.
The data could be very be useful to parents and pediatricians.
