If you live along Lake Erie, you should be prepared for possible flooding this week. The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch for the region because of rainfall and strong winds.  Winds from the south are forecasted to exceed 35-40 kilometres per hour with wind gusts expected to exceed 60 km/h. As a result, waves on the Lake Erie could reach 1.5 metres in height. The conservation authority said there will be a risk of shoreline damage, erosion and flooding until this afternoon.

The 3rd Annual Art in the Park is in Dresden this Saturday at the Tony Stranak Conservation Area from 9-3. There will be 100 vendors, a CK Pride Association BBQ and more, with proceeds to the Dresden Sidestreets Youth Centre and the United Way.

The Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks is available today. Before you binge on them, keep this in mind. One Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte, made with 2% milk and whipped cream, has 380 calories, 14 grams of fat and 50 grams of sugar. In order to burn that off, you’d have to do any of the following:

30 minutes of jump rope

76 flights of stairs

35 minutes of rowing

38 minutes of burpees

36 minutes of running intervals

33 minutes of swimming

35 minutes of spinning

Want to live longer? Be positive!

Humans have been searching for centuries for the secret to living longer, and the answer may be as simple as maintaining a positive state of mind. A new study from Boston University found that people who scored higher on an optimism assessment were more likely to live past the age of 85.
