Happy Halloween!

A longtime tradition in Canada, Ireland, the UK, and the USA. In more recent years, the celebration has spread to other countries around-the-world.

Keep an eye out for students tonight collecting non perishable goods for the food bank with the annual We Scare Hunger Food Drive.

Your trick or treat forecast is calling for rain and temperatures around 13 degrees.


Trunk or Treat tonight in the Salvation Army Parking lot on Orangewood Blvd beginning at 5:00.

Great if you don’t have treaters in the area or you don’t want to do it alone! Please bring peanut free, store bought candy for the trick or treaters.

Mom’s and Dad’s are welcome to bring the kids by between 5-8:30.

If the weather’s a factor, they’ll move inside.


Come by Sons of Kent for Rise House Trivia Night tonight.

Trivia starts at 7:30. $10/round, or $20 for all three rounds. Teams of 4. Halloween themed.

The Washington Nationals won the World Series last night, beating the Houston Astros 6-2 in Game Seven.

The Astros were huge favorites coming into the series. Some reports had them as the biggest World Series favorites since 2007.

The Nationals had never won a single playoff series until this year.

The home team lost all seven games in the series. This is the only time in the history of professional sports where the road team has won all seven games of a playoff series.


The world’s oldest woman has died at the age of 123.

Tanzilya Bisembeyeva is from Russia and has three sons, 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She had her last son when she was 59 years old. She said the key to her long life was being optimistic and drinking fermented milk.

Tanzilya died in her sleep.
