The Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) will hold a one day strike today at all Catholic Schools across the province.

The Pines and all Catholic elementary classes are cancelled for the day across C-K.


There will be some Community Open Houses this week to discuss the 2020 Municipal Budget.

All sessions will be 4:30-6.

Tonight in Thamesville (Brunner Centre) and Ryder Hall (Tilbury Arena)

Wednesday at the Blenheim High School cafeteria and Wallaceburg Municipal office.

Thursday at the Active Lifestyle Centre (Merritt Ave)

Budget deliberations will begin January 28th 6-10pm in the council chambers at the C-K Civic Centre.

The Florida Python Challenge 2020 Python Bowl wrapped up on Sunday.

The state of Florida and the Miami Super Bowl Host Committee invited the public to register and head into the Everglades to catch Burmese pythons.

Cash prizes were be awarded for the longest one, the heaviest one, the most caught and other achievements in reducing the number of the non-native snakes that are devastated native Everglades wildlife.

No word on any winners yet.
