January 6th is the sixth day of the year. There are 360 days remaining until the end of the year.

The Chatham-Kent Film Group‘s monthly movie screening is tonight at Chatham Capitol Theatre. Two showings at 4 and 7.

The January movie is Official Secrets.

Tickets are available for $10 prior to each screening. Screenings begin promptly at 4 & 7 – please arrive early.

Season pass holders must arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to claim their seat.

Beginning today Chatham-Kent residents can put their Christmas Trees at the curb for pickup on their regular garbage and recycling day. The tree must be clear of any decorations.

The tree will count as a bag towards the limit, but for the next two weeks until Friday, January 17, the bag limit will increase to four.

You can also recycle your tree for free by dropping it off at the municipal leaf and yard depot, or at any of the transfer stations in Camden, Dover, Harwich, and Wallaceburg, and at the public works yards in Bothwell, Ridgetown, and Tilbury.

Canada wins the World Junior Hockey Championship with a 4-3 win over Russia.

After trailing 3-1 in the third period, Canada scored 3 unanswered goals to win gold.

It’s Canada’s 18th title at the annual under-20 tournament. Canada earned its first medal in Europe since winning gold in 2008 when the Czech Republic last hosted.

Segway is now making hoverchairs.

If you caught the 2008 movie WALL-E, you’ll know exactly what these are all about; they’re basically like armchairs that we can ride around in.

Segway will debut new personal transporter pods at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. It’s called the S-Pod, and it uses Segway’s self-balancing technology to propel the user forward on two wheels, while sitting down.

Charmin has created a new robot that will bring you a roll of toilet paper when you need it the most.

Another gadget that will be released this week at the CES in Vegas.

The Rollbot, a self-balancing robot that connects to your phone and will deliver a fresh toilet roll directly to your seat if you happen to find yourself on the pan and caught in a bind.
