The union representing Ontario’s french teachers has cancelled a province-wide strike set for tomorrow due to the forecasted snow.

The union posted on Twitter, “this cancellation has nothing to do with bowing down to the demands of the government and the school boards, and everything to do with ensuring AEFO members’ safety on picket lines.”

“The effectiveness and safety of picket lines could also be compromised, such as icy sidewalks and unplowed sites which could result in unsafe picketing.”

The union is expected to be back at the bargaining table with the province on Friday.

The line of spices we’ve always known as Mrs. Dash just changed its name to “Dash.”

Mrs. Dash hit stores 37 years ago, but its parent company, B&G Foods, decided to shorten the name going forward. They didn’t say why they’re doing it.

The website will still be MrsDash.com though. Procter & Gamble owns Dash.com for their Dash laundry detergent.

Jens Nygaard Knudsen has passed away at the age of 78.

So who exactly is Jens Nygaard Knudsen? He’s the man responsible for developing the small Lego figures back in 1978.

Nygaard Knudsen had amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and passed away on February 19 in western Denmark.

He worked at Lego from 1968 to 2000 and also developed the company’s space and castle sets. His widow hailed her late husband as a “man of ideas”.

“The figure was created so that there would be life in the houses,” she said, “at the time Lego’s houses were empty, but then he drew this man.”

The present form of the Lego brick was first released in 1958, and the company is now one of the largest toy manufacturers in the world.
