Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the area.

Snow expected tonight and may turn to freezing rain across the region before coming to an end later Thursday.

The Thursday morning drive may be slow. Environment Canada is monitoring the system and may issue either a freezing rain warning or a snowfall advisory if needed.

Volunteers, vendors and the general public are invited to come out at 6:30.

This years Festival of Nations will be July 3-5th in Tecumseh Park.


The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) announced Tuesday that teachers, occasional teachers and other education professionals at each school board will conduct rotating one-day rotating strikes next week.

The Lambton Kent District School Board elementary schools will be closed on Monday and Tuesday. Monday locally as part of the rotating strikes, and Tuesday as a province wide strike.

A province-wide one-day strike is still scheduled for will be held tomorrow as well.

Couple of sports notes:

The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame has announced its 2020 inductees.

Former Blue Jays John Olerud and Duane Ward, along with Justin Morneau and broadcaster Jacques Doucet will be enshrined in the Hall June 20th in St. Marys, Ontario.

 London Knights netminder Brett Brochu has been named the Ontario Hockey League Goaltender and OHL Rookie of the Month for January after posting going undefeated with a 9-0 record.

The 17 year old is from Tilbury and is in his first season with the London Knights. He played for the Dresden Kings last season.
