The World Health Organization has officially classified the COVID-19 coronavirus as a pandemic.
It’s the first time they’ve escalated an “outbreak” to a “pandemic” since the H1N1 swine flu in 2009.

Tom Hanks became the first famous person to have tested positive for the coronavirus. Tom and his wife Rita Wilson are down in Australia, and they both have it. They say they’re doing fine, and are just taking it, quote, “one-day-at-a-time.”
The NBA abruptly announced that the rest of the season was suspended until further notice last night. This came after the league found out that a player had tested positive for COVID-19. Sources say the infected player is Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz. As far as we know, he’s doing okay.
During the past 10 days, Utah has played the Cleveland Cavaliers, the New York Knicks, the Boston Celtics, the Detroit Pistons, and the Toronto Raptors. Since the virus can take up to two weeks to be symptomatic, players from those teams, as well as personnel from the Jazz, have been advised to self-quarantine.
The NCAA’s March Madness tournament will be played in empty arenas. The president of the NCAA said that they want to protect players, staff, and fans from the coronavirus, and that they considered canceling altogether, but ultimately decided to continue on, without fans.
The NHL is evaluating their options with regard the the coronavirus outbreak and expect to have an update later today.
The Detroit Windsor Tunnel will be closed from 9pm-5am, for tonight and the next two Thursdays.
More work needs to be on the $22 million renovation project.
In Sarnia/Port Huron the toll rates are staying the same at the Blue Water Bridge following the latest review; $4.25 (CAD) and $3.25 (USD) for passenger vehicles.
The last increased toll rates at the bridge were in November 2018.
Twitter began testing a new feature in Brazil called “Fleet” last week, that makes your posts disappear after 24 hours.
Turns out it’s also the brand name of an at-home enema kit, so people are making fun of it.
