Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced yesterday that all non-essential businesses will be ordered to close for 14 days as of the end of the day today.
The closure will not affect grocery stores, pharmacies, or manufacturers making essential products like medical supplies. A full list of more than 70 types of businesses that will be allowed to stay open was released online last night. Find it here.
Resources for businesses forced to close will be announced on Wednesday.
When asked about the opening of schools in Ontario during the news conference, Premier Ford admitted that they will not re-open on April 6th as originally planned. However, he was not able to provide a new date for their re-opening.

Mayor Darrin Canniff, CAO Don Shropshire, Chatham-Kent Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Colby, and Chatham-Kent Health Alliance President and CEO Lori Marshall will answer questions on Facebook Live today at 12:15.

Although no official announcement has been made, International Olympic Committee member Dick Pound believes the Olympics will be postponed.
The President of the IOC, Tom Bach, issued a letter to athletes on Sunday saying that the organization was taking four weeks to decide how to proceed and whether the Games should go ahead. Pound believes the decision is already made and that those four weeks are going to be spent working out how a postponement would actually work.
The Games had been set to start on July 24th.
The Canadian Hockey League has announced the cancellation of the playoffs and Memorial Cup for this year.
The CHL cancellation includes the Ontario Hockey League.
