The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the cancellation of some blood donor clinics in Chatham-Kent because they are unable to meet social distancing rules.
These blood donor clinics are cancelled: today and April 25th in Chatham, May 5th in Dresden, and May 12th in Ridgetown.
The Windsor blood donor centre at 3909 Grand Marais Rd. is still open to donate blood. The Windsor donor centre will be open extra days in April and May. Donations are only be accepted by appointment. No walk-ins will be permitted.
Donors can schedule their appointment to donate blood by calling 1-888-2-DONATE, visiting blood.ca or through the GiveBlood app. All appointments must be scheduled in advance until further notice.
The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit has created an Older Adults COVID-19 Corner webpage.
The page includes a resource guide, self assessment link, FAQ’s and more.
Couples in New York can now get their marriage license online, and have official ceremonies over video chat.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed an order allowing online marriages, as many weddings are cancelled under lockdown restrictions. From now on, people in the state will be able to apply for marriage licences remotely and clerks allowed to conduct ceremonies virtually.
Gov Cuomo joked that the decision meant there was now “no excuse” for couples not to tie the knot.
New York isn’t the first place to put weddings online, The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has also announced that citizens and residents would be allowed to get married online.
