July 22, 2020 5:55 amJuly 22nd is the 204th day of the year. There are 162 days remaining until the end of the year.
There was another jump in COVID cases in Chatham-Kent yesterday. Another 9 were reported.
The total number of active cases is now 33. Of the active cases, 32 are self-isolating and one is in the hospital in Windsor.
A total of 197 people in the Chatham area have been infected with the virus.
A drive thru testing clinic will take place Thursday & Friday at the Thamesville Area Central School.
Ontario is reported 203 cases of #COVID19 Tuesday, a 0.5% increase.
Tuesday’s uptick is the result of localized increases: there are 43 of new cases in Ottawa, 57 in Peel and 24 more in Windsor-Essex. Looking at the age of the new cases, 116 of them or 57% are 39 years old or younger.
It’s the first time the province has surpassed 200 since end of June.
Splash pads in the municipality should all be open by the end of the week.
Most opened yesterday. Kingston Park should be open by the end of the week, if all testing comes back clear. Usually testing takes two weeks, so they’re rushing the process. Mitchell’s Bay Splash Pad will hopefully open in August sometime. Work is being done on the water tower and that’s causing supply issues.
May not be the best couple of days for a splash pad anyways, rain expected through until Friday. Weekend has sunshine and highs of 34.
There’s another Blood Donor Clinic today at the Chatham-Kent YMCA from 1-7.
Book your appointment now at Blood.ca, use the apps, call 1-888-2-DONATE. Only people with appointments are welcome, no walk in donors.
There’s a clinic Saturday from 9-1 at also the YMCA.
MLB is launching a new interactive feature where you can cheer, boo, or clap and scoreboard operators at the ballparks will adjust the artificial crowd noise to match what you and the other fans are doing.
So let’s say a Detroit Tiger hits a home run, with a push of a button, the stadium will erupt with cheers!
MLB chickened out on the artificial boos. There aren’t any. So if the folks at home are booing, the crowd noise will just get really quiet.
This chaos will be available through the MLB website, the Gameday app, and through social media links.
