July 23, 2020 5:55 amJuly 23rd is the 205th day of the year. There are 161 days remaining until the end of the year.
Ontario reported 165 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. That’s 42 fewer than the previous day.
More than half of the new cases are in people under the age of 40.
The majority of the new cases came from Windsor-Essex with 39 new cases. Ottawa saw 33 new cases and Toronto reported 28 more cases.
Just one new case reported in Chatham-Kent and two recovered cases. Twenty-four new cases were reported over the previous four days. C-K now has 32 active cases.
Day one of Drive Thru COVID Testing today at the Thamesville and Area Central School from 10-6.
Everyone is welcome to attend, must have a valid Ontario Health Card. Tests are done from your vehicle.
You do not need to be in a vehicle to attend the clinic. Walk ups are welcome.
On Saturday film your day and you may become part of a historic global documentary, filmed by you. It’s called Life In a Day.
On July 25, grab your camera or smartphone and film your day.
You might record a typical day — going to work, connecting with family, being with friends. Or maybe something special is happening – it’s your wedding day, you have important news to share, or you’re having a baby. You could show us lockdown in your city, how your world is opening up, or something you’re fighting for.
The most important thing is to make it personal. Share what matters to you.
Submissions are open from July 25 – August 2. After submissions close, a team of researchers and editors will review the clips received. If your footage is used in the final film, we will contact you later in the year.
It’s Opening Night (finally) for Major League Baseball.
The Yankees will play in Washington and the Giants in Los Angeles. The Jays and Tigers seasons both begin tomorrow on the road.
The Jays first home game this season is next Wednesday against the Washington Nationals, and the Jays have no idea where that game will be played yet.
The Canadian government announced on the weeekend that the Blue Jays would not be permitted to play their home games in Toronto out of concern for public health. The plan was then to play home games in Pittsburgh, but now the Pennsylvania state government has denied that request as well. So the Jays are scrambling.

The NFL announced yesterday that fans who attend games this season will be required to wear masks.
NFL Vice President of Communications Brian McCarthy Tweeted:

As you can imagine, some fans are raising hell over this.
Not all teams are even allowing fans in their stadiums, but the Atlanta Falcons just announced they’ll seat between 10,000 and 20,000 for home games.
