The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Columbus Blue Jackets played the 4th longest game in NHL history last night.

Tampa’s Brayden Point scored in the 5th overtime to give the Lightning the win in game 1 of their series.

The game started at 3:09pm and lasted 6:13, ending at 9:22pm. It was the longest NHL game since May 2000.

If you missed it last night, keep an eye tonight for the Perseid meteor shower.

It is considered one of the most stunning celestial events of the year.

According to the Canadian Space Agency, the Perseids can be seen from the northern hemisphere each year, from late July to mid-August. This year, an increasing number of shooting stars should be visible every night, until the light show peaks last night and tonight.

During the peak, typically in the darkest hours after midnight, up to 50 to 90 meteors per hour can streak across the sky.
