August 6th is the 219th day of the year. There are 147 days remaining until the end of the year.

Eleven new COVID-19 cases were reported by Chatham-Kent Public Health Wednesday.

They’ve also reported the municipality’s second death related to COVID-19. A woman in her 50s has died at Windsor Regional Hospital.

There are currently 77 active cases in C-K, two of which are currently hospitalized.

Ontario reported 86 new cases. It’s the third consecutive day, and fifth time in the last week the province has reported fewer than 100 cases.

A staff member with the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has tested positive for COVID-19.

As a result the CKHA has cancelled visiting hours to all non-essential visitors.

Chatham’s Bridget Carleton was given her first WNBA start last night for the Minnesota Lynx…and she was red hot.

The John McGregor grad scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. All career highs.

The Lynx beat the New York Liberty 93-66.

Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (owners of the Raptors and Leafs…and others) have teamed up with Live Nation and the OLG for a new drive-in entertainment venue.

The OLG Play Stage, located at Ontario Place, will also host a lineup of concerts over the coming weeks. It’ll feature a 40-foot movie screen. Admission will be $25 per vehicle.

The first event is tomorrow when the Leafs play the Columbus Blue Jackets in Game 4 of their Stanley Cup qualifier series.

Details on future concerts with Walk Off the Earth, Sam Roberts Band and others will be announced soon.

The World’s Longest Yard Sale begins today.

The headquarters are located in Jamestown, Tennessee. The sale always officially starts on the first Thursday in August through the following Sunday.

It’s called The Worlds Longest Yard Sale. Every year individuals clean out their closets and stake out their front yards along the Hwy 127 corridor stretching over 690 miles. They band together as communities and over a four-day weekend they welcome thousands of bargain shoppers.
