The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit reported 1 new case of COVID-19 over the long weekend, that is the only active case on the books right now. Chatham-Kent was last down to one active case on July 3.

Ontario reported 190 new cases of coronavirus on Labour Day Monday and 185 cases on Tuesday marking almost 400 new infections in the province over the last two days.

Health Minister Christine Elliott announced yesterday that Ontario will take a pause of four weeks of any further loosening of public health measures. “Latest trends and numbers have raised concern, especially as we begin to reopen schools and post-secondary.”

Minister Elliott says this includes any increases to social circles and social gatherings. “We need to ensure that progress we’ve made is not lost. Taking a pause of further reopening at this time will help us to avoid returning to broad scale closures and shutdowns.”


Traffic note for those in Wallaceburg.

The Lord Selkirk Bridge will be closed to traffic today from 7-7 for repairs. It will be closed tomorrow as well.

Detours are in place.


Facebook is going to start paying people to deactivate their Facebook and Instagram accounts for one to six weeks leading up to the U.S. election in November.

They’re offering between $10 and $20 a week to deactivate your account, so you could get up to $120 if they ask you to be part of this.

Why are they doing it? To assess the impact of social media on voting. They expect 200,000 to 400,000 people to take part.

Facebook and Instagram will target American users only.


Dairy Queen brought back their Fall Blizzard Treat Candle Collection.

It features six scents inspired by the fall Blizzard menu, including new scents Caramel Apple Pie Blizzard, Choco Dipped Strawberry Blizzard, Brownie Dough Blizzard, and Oreo Mocha Fudge Blizzard and two returning favourites Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough Blizzard and Pumpkin Pie Blizzard.

The candles launched on Thursday at DQCandlecCollection.com and sold out almost immediately. The set was $25 and 100% of the proceeds are donated to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.


Peloton is releasing a new treadmill that will be priced under $3,000.

Their current one costs $4,295.

Peloton is also developing a new stationary bike and plans to drop the price of their current one to under $1,900.
