Apparently 2020 won’t go down in history as being all bad. Why?
Scientists may have developed a new way to solve one of society’s smelliest problems: stinky feet.
Swiss researchers say that wearing socks coated in zinc oxide nanoparticles can prevent foot odor and ‘pitted keratolysis’, which is a bacterial infection that leads to smelly feet.
In a study involving 148 cadets at the Thai Naval Rating School, those wearing zinc-coated socks reported much fewer foul odors coming from their feet than other soldiers.
The researchers say these new socks could provide a new primary prevention option for both military personnel and civilians who are susceptible to “these embarrassing and unpleasant conditions.”
