For the first time, Ontario is reporting more than 2000 (2,275) cases of #COVID19. A change to the data extraction process is responsible for higher case counts in some regions.
There were 711 new cases in Toronto, 586 in Peel, 185 in Windsor-Essex County and 154 in York Region reported Tuesday.
Chatham-Kent Public Health reported 5 new cases Tuesday.
The number of active cases is down to 31 after six cases were resolved.
Water service will be interrupted in Erieau on today from 8:30-5.
Installation of a water main replacement on Erieau Road will cause the interruption.
The work is not expected to impact water quality, but residents may have coloured water when service is restored.
The Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration in New York will not have a public audience this year to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
It’ll be a broadcast only event.
Organizers for the New Year’s Eve celebration had said back in September that the event would be mostly virtual in order to follow social distancing guidelines.
This year’s special guests will be the “Heroes of 2020,” including first responders, frontline and essential workers and their families “who sacrificed so much in 2020 to provide care and support for their communities.”

The glasses sit on special wood bases that are connected to WIFI, so when you both lift your glasses off the bases to toast, they light up.
