The 31st Annual Christmas Wish Tree Lighting Ceremony is tonight at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in Chatham.
The Wallaceburg Lighting Ceremony was last night.
The community is invited to make a donation in memory of a loved one, and receive a light on the tree in recognition. The memorial trees are lit up during a special ceremony, and those who are being remembered are celebrated.
This year it’s a virtual ceremony, you can watch on YourTV or follow live on Facebook.com/ckhafoundation
Proceeds from this year’s campaign will support the purchase of equipment for Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s new Urology services. The goal was to raise $100,000 – so far over $170,000 has been raised. Visit ckhaf.ca for more info.
Major League Baseball has elevated the Negro Leagues to Major League status.
MLB will recognize records and stats from 3,400 players who played in Negro Leagues between 1920-48.
Commissioner Rob Manfred described the maneuver as “correcting a longtime oversight in the game’s history.”
The Negro Leagues existed because Black players were barred from competing in integrated leagues for more than 50 years.
MLB celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Negro Leagues during the 2020 season.
Budweiser has teamed up with We Rate Dogs, an online social media account that rates dogs, to put some lucky pups on real cans of Budweiser.
Respond to the Twitter thread online with a picture of your dog, or pictures, and make sure to use #Pupweiser in your posts.
A few lucky owners will get their pup’s image on a can sent directly to them. By the looks of it, it’s only happening in the U.S.
