January 7th is the 7th  day of the year. 


Chatham-Kent Public Health reported 11 new cases Wednesday.

Ontario added 3,266 new cases of COVID-19, the fifth day in the past seven with more than 3,000 cases reported.

The majority of the cases are in Toronto, York Region and Peel. Closer to home there 208 cases reported in Windsor-Essex.


At the beginning of December, local home-building company Maple City Homes launched the Helping the Homeless Through the Holidays challenge. It called on Chatham-Kent residents to raise $100,000 to help homelessness initiatives and organizations in the community.

For every $3 raised in Chatham-Kent, the company pledged to match it with a $1 donation.

On Tuesday evening, it was announced that a total of $107,992 was raised through the initiative.


Mountain Dew is launching a new pink soda flavor called Major Melon. The watermelon drink will come with and without sugar. It’s Mountain Dew’s first new permanent flavor in a decade.


Samsung is selling a new $156,000 TV. The TV comes in 110-inch, 99-inch and 88-inch models. It has a solar powered remote control. The TV will be available sometime this year.

 

 


Bruno Bouchet, of Sydney, Australia, went viral yesterday after he posted pictures of his Gatorade Latte. He microwaves his Gatorade before topping it with frothy milk. Bruno drinks his Gatorade Latte out of a coffee mug. He posted: ‘The perfect afternoon pick-me-up.’
