The Ontario government is planning to have a school reopening announcement today.
The goal is to have all schools reopen for in-person learning by the middle of next week.
All students began January with online learning as part of a provincial lockdown.
The province has since taken a staggered approach to reopening physical classrooms, starting first with Northern Ontario and rural schools where case rates are lower.
We want all students in all regions back to class.
The Chief Medical Officer of Health confirmed to Premier @fordnation & I that on Wednesday he will finalize his advice.
The Government will provide certainty parents deserve by announcing on Wednesday the dates for reopening.

Jeff Bezos is stepping down from his post as CEO of Amazon later this year.
Bezos is staying with the company. He’s just transitioning to Executive Chair of the Amazon Board, where he plans to, “focus my energies and attention on new products and early initiatives.”
So he’ll still have a very active role at Amazon. But this also frees him up to work on other projects, like the Bezos Earth Fund, his Blue Origin spaceship company, and The Washington Post.
Bezos founded Amazon in 1994. He’s 57 years old.
Bezos will be replaced by Andy Jassy, who’s already one of the company’s top executives.
Captain Tom Moore passed away yesterday at the age of 100 years old.
He’s the U.K. veteran who raised over $45 million last year by walking outside his house. The Army veteran won the hearts of many by walking 100 laps of his garden last year during the first lockdown, raising money for charity.
He was knighted by the Queen in July in a special ceremony at Windsor Castle. His autobiography that came out in September called, Tomorrow Will Be a Good Day.
He’d been battling pneumonia after testing positive for COVID-19 last month.
