5 new COVID-19 cases were reported Thursday by Chatham-Kent Public Health.
There were 3 resolved cases. The active number of cases is now at 37.
Ontario is reporting more than 4,700 new COVID-19 cases for the first time in the pandemic as the total number of people who contracted the disease in the province surpasses the 400,000 mark.
On Thursday, health officials reported 4,736 new infections, as well as 29 more deaths.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s cabinet is actively considering a variety of stricter measures as COVID-19 modelling shows the province could see up to 18,000 new infections per day by the end of May if current trends continue.
The measures under consideration include shutting down construction to just critical infrastructure projects and placing limits on non-essential manufacturing and warehousing. Additional restrictions on religious services are also being considered by cabinet.
Sources say Ontario is also considering fining business owners if non-essential staff attend work in-person. The government is also considering further restrictions on retail.
Ontario could also step up enforcement of its ongoing stay-at-home order.
A provincewide curfew is also under consideration.
Nothing has been confirmed.
Team Canada and its Official Outfitter Hudson’s Bay have released the team kit for Tokyo 2020, and it’s giving people mixed reactions.
The Opening Ceremony jacket is red, lightweight and water resistant. The t-shirts -also red, are made of fast dry, lightweight jersey.
The Closing Ceremony look consists of a jean jacket, paying homage to the classic Canadian Tuxedo with a twist. The graffiti graphic and unexpected patch placements capture a youthful & celebratory feel.
CBS Has Decided the Fate of “NCIS” even as it is still TV’s most watched drama series regularly drawing more than 12 million viewers per episode.
But there was some debate as to whether CBS would continue the show beyond this season, mostly because Mark Harmon was thinking about moving on. He’s played the role of NCIS Special Agent Jethro Gibbs since 2003 on “JAG”.
However, it’s now official: NCIS will be back for a 19th season with Harmon, although he may not be a full-time cast member.
