Twenty one new positive COVID-19 cases reported Tuesday by Chatham-Kent Public Health.

There were twenty six recoveries, the total active case count locally at 98.

There are 564 new cases of COVID-19 across the province. 434 (77%) cases are in unvaccinated individuals.


There is a mobile vaccination clinics at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance today from 2-8.

Anyone 12 and older is welcome at the clinic.

There’s a clinic at KSR in Ridgetown tomorrow from 3-7.

The second ever Canadian will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame today.

B.C’s Larry Walker will join Chatham’s Ferguson Jenkins as the only two Canadians in the hall.

Three others will also be inducted today; New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, catcher/first baseman Ted Simmons and the late Marvin Miller, whose efforts on the labour front changed the game.

Walker played for the Montreal Expos, Colorado Rockies and St. Louis Cardinals. He played over 1,100 games and was a 5 time all star.

The induction has been delayed for over a year due to the pandemic.


El Salvador has become the first country to adopt Bitcoin as a national currency.

The government is hoping this will attract new investments.

Salvadorans will be able to download the “Chivo Wallet,” an application created by the government which will deliver $30 worth of bitcoin to people to promote its use. Some citizens have embraced the technology, while others are wary.


A wild day at the zoo on Monday.

A rhino got loose yesterday at the Omaha Zoo.

Zoo visitors were taken into buildings as the rhino was captured and placed back in his pen. Zookeepers were able to lure the rhino into his cage with sweet potatoes.
