On Sunday Ontario reported 580 new cases of COVID-19.. 407 cases are in unvaccinated individuals (70%)

Chatham-Kent Public Health doesn’t update on the weekends or holidays. On Friday, there were 24 new cases and twenty-two recoveries. The active case count locally is at 107. A weekend update will come between 10-11 this morning.


The Bradley Centre Vaccination Clinic will be open Wednesday and Saturday this week.

On Wednesday 3-7:30 and Saturday 9-3 for anyone 12+ looking for first or second shots.

There will be no local Santa Claus parades this year, in the traditional sense.

The municipality will not be issuing parade permits. Due to the ongoing pandemic the Police Auxiliary Units were not reinstated for 2021, the Auxiliary Unit assists in traffic control.

Last year some communities organized “reverse parades”, but nothing has been announced locally.


The Toronto Blue Jays season is over.

The season came down to the final game, game #162; the Jays did their part finishing a weekend sweep against Baltimore, but they needed a Yankees or Red Sox loss to move on. The Yankees scored in the 9th to win their game, and Boston rallied to come back against Washington to squash Toronto’s hopes.

The MLB Playoffs begin tomorrow.


The Weather Network‘s October forecast is predicting more warm temperatures with the arrival of wintry weather being pushed back until next year.

There will be some cooler days coming, a mixture of chilly days will still be scattered throughout the month with a couple of systems bringing about some fall storms.

Overall, the month’s forecast is looking ideal for the family looking to find pumpkins and raking leaves without needing a winter jacket.
