With the temperatures dropping, it’s winter tire season and tire shops are seeing an increase in drivers making the change before the snow flies.

Winter tires are recommended after the temperature drops below 7C since the rubber that makes up all-season tires hardens, meaning it grips less to the road. When it comes to winter tires, those are designed to be more flexible and different tread patterns cut into the ice and snow better.

Strains on the supply chain mean that some tires are hard to acquire, so it is better to book your appointment or your purchase in time before the white stuff is here.

Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend as we fall back an hour, officially at 2am Sunday morning.
