For the first time in over two years, municipal art galleries are inviting people to downtown Chatham to hop between storefronts to look at art and speak with local artists.
The Thames Art Gallery and ARTspace have organized a Spring Mini-Art Crawl for March 25 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Art and Heirloom Shoppe, William Street Café and The Co. will be welcoming visitors during the evening.
The last mini art crawl was held in January 2020.
Camp Vincent is reopening this summer after being dormant since March 2020, when COVID-19 closed the facility.
During that time the staff completed major renovations around the facility. The 51-year-old camp houses eight cabins with 10 bunks, an indoor dining hall, recreational areas, a pool, and more.
The all-inclusive camp for children aged 6-15, will be open this summer with weekly sessions beginning July 10 and ending August 26. There is also a shorter session from August 2-5, which will be for the youngest campers.
There is a leader-in-training program for campers aged 14-16, as well as employment opportunities for university students and older staff.
The upcoming open house at the camp is on Saturday, June 4, from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. More information about the camp and registration can be found here.
With March Break upon us, the Ontario government is reminding residents of the Ontario Staycation Tax Credit in place for 2022.
Residents will get back 20 per cent on eligible accommodation expenses for stays in the province this year. This includes hotels, motels, lodges, bed-and-breakfast establishments, cottages, campgrounds, and other short-term accommodations in Ontario that are subject to GST/HST.
Individuals can claim $1,000 and families can claim up to $2,000 for a credit of $200 to $400.
Residents will be able to apply for the credit when they file their 2022 personal income tax benefit.
Tom Brady is already coming out of retirement for his 23rd season in the NFL.
The 44-year-old confirmed his decision on Sunday, March 13. “These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” he wrote via Twitter.
The quarterback will return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2022 to 2023 football season.
