Windsor will be home to the first electric vehicle battery manufacturing operation in Canada.

Stellantis and LG Energy have teamed up for the nearly $5-billion plant that is expected to create an estimated 2,500 jobs for the area.

The batteries will initially supply all of Stellantis’ North American electric vehicles.

The accompanying supply chain that is expected to put tens of thousands more to work.

The different level of governments investment is the largest ever in Canada’s history.

Construction is expected to begin this spring with operations planned to launch in the first quarter of 2024. The facility will be fully operational by 2025.


The Ontario tuition freeze for college and universities is being extended for another year. The freeze will now last through the 2022-2023 academic year.

This freeze was first announced for the 2020-2021 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The province previously announced an extension last April.


Canadian Men’s Soccer looks to qualify for the World Cup with 3 games over the next week.

The Red & White will face Costa Rica on the road tonight. A win would assure a top-three finish and a ticket to Qatar for the World Cup. Canada has qualified for just one FIFA men’s World Cup in the nation’s history, that was back in 1986.

Canada will play their final home match at BMO Field in Toronto, on Sunday and Panama on the 30th.

Canada has won six matches in a row and sits on top of the table in the Final Round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers with 25 points after 11 matches.

The PGA Tour will stop in Detroit will be July 26-31st.

The Rocket Mortgage Classic announced on Wednesday that volunteer registration has opened for this year’s tournament – and Canadians are welcome to put their names in.

Organizers say they are expecting 1,500 volunteers to help out. Volunteers will help oversee every aspect of the event from admissions and guest services to on-course gallery management and shot tracking.

Each volunteer receives a golf shirt and hat, week-long tournament access and parking, an additional ticket for guests, and complimentary food and beverages while working during tournament week.

The volunteer package is $75 for adults, $35 for students 18. All proceeds benefit tournament charities.

The Ontario government is launching a new Digital Dealership Registration (DDR) process that promises to make it “easier, faster, and more convenient” for Ontarians after they buy a car.

This online registration program will grant Ontario car dealerships the ability to register new cars for their customers online as well as issue them permits and license plates directly, allowing buyers to get their new car “almost immediately.”

The program is currently available for the registration of new vehicles and is being tested out at some dealerships through the spring.
