As long as positive public health trends continue, mask mandates in Ontario will be removed by the end of March.

Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Kieran Moore said he will monitor the impacts of the province’s reopening. On Tuesday capacity limits were lifted and the vaccine certificate system came to an end.

Moore did say that there still may be more than 20,000 new COVID-19 cases per day, but high vaccination rates and low hospitalizations suggest the worst is behind us.


Canadians continue to show support for Ukraine with donations.

The Canada-Ukraine Foundation said it had raised $4 million by Monday and delivered $500,000 of that to provide food packages, medicine and shelter.

The federal government announced last week it will match every donation made to the Red Cross for Ukraine up to a maximum of $10 million.

According to Environment Canada we can expect sunshine in the forecast today and a high of 3. More sun, some clouds Saturday climbing to a high of 12, but everyone’s talking about Sunday.

Sunday will be wet with a high of 19. 19!

The Winter Paralympics open on today in Beijing and close on March 13th.

Coverage of the opening ceremony will begin at 6:30 this morning. The ceremony will air live on CBC and stream on CBC.ca.

A team of 49 athletes will represent Canada, including 25 Paralympic medalists and 19 making their Games debut.

Russian and Belarusian athletes have been banned from the Winter Paralympic Games for their countries’ roles in the war in Ukraine
