Gas prices in Ontario dropped an average of 1 cent per litre yesterday, but they’re going back up today.

Prices on average will rise 5 cents per litre across the province. The average will be at 173.9 cents per litre.

The most expensive area to fill up remains to be Thunder Bay, with prices set at 192.9 cents per litre.

The average in Chatham-Kent this morning is about 175.5 cents per litre, higher than the provincial average.


There’s a blood donor clinic Tuesday in Dresden at the arena.

No winner again Tuesday, so the Lotto Max jackpot grows for tonight.

Last weekend Canada clinched its first World Cup berth since 1986. 2022 will be the second appearance ever for Canada at the tournament.

Today is the day that Canada finds out what group they’ll be placed in. The World Cup draw is being done in Qatar and will determine their opening-round opponents.

Canada closed out their qualifying campaign with a 1-0 loss in Panama on Wednesday, even with the loss they finished on top of the table. But while they finished atop their region, Canada dropped five spots in the world rankings released yesterday, from #33 to #38. That means Canada is grouped with the lowest-ranked teams for the draw.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup runs from November 21 to December 18 in Qatar.


It’s April Fools Day.

Many say the custom of playing practical jokes on this day originated with the reform of the calendar when New Year’s Day was moved from April 1st to January 1st. Those who clung to the old New Year’s Day were scoffed at as ‘fools’ and sent fake party invitations and prank gifts.
