Elon Musk has bought Twitter.

The world’s wealthiest person ($279 billion) has wanted to buy and privatize Twitter because he thinks it’s not living up to its potential as a platform for free speech.

The going rate for a social media platform? $44 billion.

Twitter said the deal is expected to close sometime this year and is subject to the approval of Twitter stockholders and regulators.

Musk is on track for another massive payday where he will soon receive stock options worth billions of dollars.


The world’s oldest person, Kane Tanaka, has died in Japan at 119.

Tanaka was born on January 2nd, 1903, died on April 19th.

Tanaka married a rice shop owner at the age of 19, and worked in the family store until she was 103. She twice survived cancer and lived through a multitude of historical events, surviving two world wars and the 1918 Spanish flu — as well as the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to Guinness, Sister André is now officially the oldest person alive at 118 years 73 days old. She was born in France, February 11th, 1904 as Lucile Randon.

Sister André has lived a full life and in her younger years worked as a teacher, a governess and looked after children during World War II. She also holds the record for the oldest nun living.
