Environment Canada is calling for a wet week in Chatham-Kent.

The lucky Lotto Max winning ticket for Friday’s draw was sold in the Prairies.

Unclaimed for weeks, the jackpot grew to $70 million.

Friday’s draw also included 40 Maxmillions of $1 million each, and 12 of them were claimed.

The jackpot for the next Lotto Max draw on Tuesday will be an estimated $38 million.


Beginning today, people in Ontario can wager on casino games, sporting events and other gambling activities online and from your smartphone through registered operators.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, will regulate the industry. Ontario is the first province in the country to take bets.

Online gambling already existed in Ontario, on grey market websites operated outside the country and through Ontario Lottery and Gaming. The OLG launched its Proline+ sportsbook last summer after the federal government legalized single-event sports betting.

Ontario says by regulating the online gambling market will help “protect consumers and provide choice.” Twenty-five operators were registered with iGaming Ontario as of Friday.


The World Cup draw was held on Friday morning, Canada was the last name called out and will play in Group F with Belgium, Morocco and Croatia.

The tournament runs November 21 to December 18th in Qatar.

Canada will play their first World Cup game since 1986 on November 23rd against Belgium, before facing Croatia on November 27th and Morocco on December 1st.

Only the top two teams in the group will advance to the round of 16 at the 32-country tournament.

The teams that come out of Group F will play one of the top two teams in Group E, which could be former champions Spain or Germany in the round of 16.


The NCAA men’s basketball final is tonight.

North Carolina will play Kansas to wrap up March Madness.
