Chatham man celebrates $100K lotto win
A retired Chatham resident has a lot to celebrate after collecting a big prize playing the OLG’s Lotto Max.
After 30 years of playing the lottery, Carlos Alves says he’s planning on making the most of his $100,000 win.
Alves was checking his ticket at Queen’s Variety & Laundromat on Queen Street in Chatham when he saw the prize amount. He says he always plays his own numbers and encore.

Today in Blenheim at St. Mary’s Hall from 1:30-7:30 and tomorrow at the Portuguese Club in Chatham 2-7pm.

The Road Trip Adult Summer Reading Contest will be launching soon too!
Participants can visit their local branches to pick up a road trip bookmark. If they visit the library three times, the bookmark becomes a ballot to win various prizes.
Each branch prize features gift cards to different venues and destinations in Chatham-Kent.
The contest begins July 4 and runs until Aug. 31 for those aged 16 and older.

The Chatham Concert Band debuts the 2022 Summer Concert Season tomorrow night!
Free concert starts at 7pm and will continue every Wednesday until the end of August in Tecumseh Park.
