October 11th is the 284th day of the year. There are 81 days remaining until the end of the year.

Garbage and recycling pickup across Chatham-Kent will be pushed back one day this week because of the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

Friday pickups will be Saturday.

Another week, and another blood donor clinic in Chatham-Kent.

Donors are needed today at Chatham-Kent YMCA from 1-7pm

No walk-in appointments are available, but you can book your appointment at Blood.ca, call 1-888-2-DONATE or use the apps.

The Toronto Blue Jays postseason dreams are over.

Losing on Friday forced a must win game Saturday, all looked good when they were leading 8-1 in the 5th inning. But the Seattle Mariners battled back to win 10-9.

It was the biggest road comeback win in playoff history and baseball’s largest comeback victory to clinch a postseason series.

MLB‘s Division Series will begin today…

  • Phillies vs. Braves Game 1: 1:07pm
  • Mariners vs. Astros Game 1: 3:37pm
  • Guardians vs. Yankees Game 1: 7:37pm
  • Padres vs. Dodgers Game 1: 9:37pm

Still no Lotto Max jackpot winner.

No winning ticket was sold for the Friday night draw, although six separate $1 million Maxmillion tickets were picked.

The jackpot for tonight will stay at $70 million with 58 $1 million Maxmillion prizes.

Tickets are available online or in store until 10:30pm on draw nights.

Amazon’s Prime Early Access sale starts today and runs through Wednesday.

It’s like an early Black Friday sale, where certain things are discounted for Prime members. It’s the first time they’ve done a second Prime Day-type sale in one year. Actual Prime Day was back in July.

A new study found Amazon deals aren’t always as good as they seem though. So make sure you’re really getting a good discount before you buy. When stuff’s on sale, it also lists the original price crossed out. But the study found some Amazon sellers basically just make those old prices up.

In other words, something might normally sell for $200. But they’d claim the retail price was $300, and offer it at a fake discount of $250. It happens with vacuums a lot for some reason. But they also saw it with other products like digital cameras, blenders, drones, and books.
