Chatham’s Bridget Carleton will be honoured tonight at the high school gym she grew up playing in.
John McGregor Secondary School will raise a banner highlighting the Olympian and WNBA-er.
Everyone is welcome, although capacity is limited, to come by the school tonight at 7. There will be a seniors girls basketball game between the JMSS Panthers and Lambton-Kent Cardinals. The Chatham-Kent Wildcats will scrimmage at halftime.

The 118th World Series kicks off tonight.
The Houston Astros will host the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 1 of the Best of Seven final.
Houston is a perfect 7-0 to start the playoffs. The Phillies were seeded sixth in the National League bracket and were the final team to qualify for the playoffs.
The Astros won their last World Series in 2017, the Phillies in 2008.

David Suzuki is retiring.
He announced he’ll retire from CBC’s The Nature of Things next spring after 43 years as host of the longest-running television science program.
Suzuki is 86. He began his television career in 1970 with weekly children’s show Suzuki on Science, going on to host Quirks & Quarks and a half-hour television series, Science Magazine from 1975-79. The Nature of Things premiered on CBC in October 1979. The show’s 62nd season will debut January 6, 2023. His final episode will air in the spring.

Ford is discontinuing the Fiesta after 47 years. Party’s over.
Ford has built over 16 million of the subcompact cars over seven generations, and it remains the all-time best-selling vehicle in the United Kingdom.
Ford has not said exactly what will replace the Fiesta in its lineup, but have teased the arrival of an electric subcompact SUV.
