Friday is a PA Day for a lot of C-K students. If you’re looking for something to do tomorrow, there are some free swims available in Wallaceburg and Blenheim.

There’s a free PA Day swim at the Blenheim – Gable Rees Rotary Pool Friday 1:30-3 and at the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool 1:30 to 4.

The celebration of all things crows is less than a week away!

Chatham-Kent Crowfest is a fun event for everyone! There is daily activities taking place in downtown Chatham starting on Wednesday, October 12th through the 15th.

Some of the highlights are dueling pianos on Wednesday, the Gala on Thursday, the night market and buskers on Friday, as well as the main celebration on Saturday.

As of today, Canadian merchants will be allowed to charge extra money when accepting credit cards.

These new fees are meant to offset the fees that credit card companies charge vendors with every purchase. Previously Visa and Mastercard prohibited business owners from passing along to customers.

Now it will be up to each individual merchant to choose whether or not to add Visa and Mastercard surcharges to the bills of patrons.


Game times have been released for the Blue Jays playoff series against the Seattle Mariners.

Game 1 will be played on Friday at 4:07pm, with Game 2 slated for Saturday at 4:07pm. There is currently no set time for Sunday’s Game 3, which will only be played if necessary. The Jays will host the entire series at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

The Blue Jays also confirmed Alek Manoah as Friday’s Game 1 starter.

All of Toronto’s playoff games will be broadcast on Sportsnet and called by Blue Jays broadcasters.


The average price at the gas pumps rose 10 cents yesterday to an average of 162.9 cents per litre in Ontario. Another significant increase is coming today.

The price of gas will rise six cents at midnight to 168.9 cents per litre, marking the highest price in about two months.

Locally this morning (as of 5:30am) in Chatham it is an average of 155 cents per litre, 150 in Wallaceburg, Blenheim 152 and in Tilbury 149.
