The new Chatham-Kent Council has been sworn in.

Mayor Darrin Canniff and 17 councillors were sworn in on Tuesday. There are five new councillors, along with 12 incumbents.

The first meeting with the new members of council will take place on Monday, November 21.

Mayor Canniff will join CKMORNINGS at 7:40 this morning.


It’s Movie Night at the Capitol Theatre.

Last night, during a speech at his Mar-a-Logo home in Florida, former President Donald Trump announced that he’s running for the 2024 Republican nomination for president.

Trump is aiming to become only the second commander-in-chief ever elected to two nonconsecutive terms.

This will be his third bid for the office.


Santa Claus is coming to town this weekend!

The first Chatham-Kent Santa Claus Parades are Friday and Saturday.

The Downtown Chatham Santa Claus Parade is Friday.

Float staging will be held on Sandys Street beginning at 4:30pm and will begin at 6:30. From Sandys, to Lacroix, to King Street West before wrapping up at the WISH Centre.

Non-perishable goods and new toys will also be collected during the parade. Canada Post will collect letters to Santa.

On Saturday, the Knights of Pythias Wallaceburg Santa Claus Parade. It starts on Arnold St. at 2pm.

Community Living Wallaceburg will be collecting non-perishable items during the parade. All non-perishables will help support local, and be donated to the ROCK Missions James Street Drop-In and The Salvation Army Chatham Kent Ministries (Wallaceburg)


Gas prices in the province dropped 7 cents per litre at midnight to an average of 158.9.

Locally (as of 5:30am): Chatham is at 169.9, Wallaceburg at 153, Blenheim 169 and Tilbury at 159.9.
