The Chatham Goodfellows Porchlight campaign was a huge success last night.

Volunteers were spread throughout the community collecting cash, toys and food to make sure No Child is Without a Christmas this season. $59,789 in cash was collected this year!

The Porchlight fundraiser is important because it helps purchase vital items for the food hampers that are given to families in need, like turkeys, hams and bags of milk.

The annual Goodfellows newspaper Street Sales are next weekend (December 9 & 10) outside of local businesses supporting the campaign. For more information or to volunteer go to ChathamGoodfellows.ca.

Disney is trying to build the first ever roller coaster that jumps off the track and flies through the air.

The design was created by Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) which hopes to create this crazy ride in the near future, a patent was filed earlier in the month.

Engineers have said it’s possible, although it will take an insane amount of precision to nail it, “for a roller coaster to jump the track, it has to move at precise speed every single time, which can easily be impacted by the weather, humidity, number of riders, and many more elements.”

If this ever were to come to fruition, experts say it won’t even begin testing until 2030.
