Quarterback Tom Brady announced his retirement on Wednesday morning. Again.
It was one year ago to the day that he initially announced he was leaving the game, then 40 days later he changed his mind and returned to play another (drama-filled)season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Speculation of marriage issues with his longtime wife, Gisele Bündchen, materialized, ending in their divorce after 13 years of marriage in October.
He leaves the NFL with multiple records and accolades, including seven Super Bowl titles, five Super Bowl MVP awards, and 14 Pro Bowl selections.
The founders of Instagram are back with a new app.
Earlier this week they announced the launch of Artifact. They’re describing it as, “A personalized news feed driven by artificial intelligence.”
The app is more focused on articles rather than photos. Artifact will recommend content based on interests and allow for discussion with friends. A main feed will display popular articles from large media organizations down to smaller bloggers, and a user’s feed will grow more personalized based on what they click on. Definite Twitter-vibes going on here.
A waiting list to join is open to the public.
It’s Groundhog Day.
Legend has it, if the groundhog sees his shadow there will be six more weeks of winter. If he doesn’t see his shadow, spring is just around the corner.
Last year, Wiarton Willie, Ontario’s prognosticating rodent, predicted an early Spring.
This is the 67th year Willie will be making a prediction. Well, someone that looks like Willie anyways. Willie died of a tooth abscess prior to the 2021 prediction. The Mayor used a fur hat last year, but it wasn’t confirmed until November that Willie had infact passed.
Usually the prognosticating ground hog is an albino, but those are hard to come by, so a standard brown groundhog was used last year.
The Wiarton Willie prediction will be made at 8:07am.
