It’s Easter Monday and here’s what you should know:
- No collection changes for garbage and recycling today.
- Municipal offices will be closed.

A “major pattern change” happening this weekend will bring dry conditions and warmer temperatures to most of Canada this week.
According to Environment Canada temperatures are expected to warm up significantly and reach into the 20’s this week.
Sunshine and a high of 18 today, 22 tomorrow and jumping to 26 (or 79F) on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The Great Lakes are still very cold at this time of year, meaning lake breezes will keep temperatures near the lakes almost 10 degrees cooler during the afternoon.
Jon Rahm won the The Masters golf tournament yesterday and took home $3.24 million.
Due to play being delayed because of rain storms on Friday and Saturday, they had to finish Round 3 and play Round 4 Sunday. It began at 8:30am, and ended at 7pm.

Tiger Woods wasn’t around for the finish. He withdrew Sunday morning before the third round resumed, saying plantar fasciitis in his foot was aggravating him.

Statistics Canada released some numbers over the weekend showing that Canada had its first 12-month period in its history where the national population grew by over one million people.
There was an increase of 1,050,110 people living in the country.
Temporary immigration was the leading contributor for Canada’s growth last year, with the country welcoming 607,782 non-permanent residents in addition to the 437,180 immigrants.
In total, as of January 1, 2023, Canada’s estimated population is 39,556,248. It is expected that we reach and exceed 40 million people before the end of the year.
Despite mixed reviews, The Super Mario Brothers Movie is tops at the box office.
The Super Mario Brothers Movie had the biggest global box office opening of all time for an animated film. It made $377 million in worldwide ticket sales.
The PG-rated Mario is the origin story of Brooklyn plumbers Mario, voiced by Chris Pratt, and Luigi (Charlie Day), who fall into a pipe and come out in another world full of Nintendo’s most famous characters, from Bowser (Jack Black) to Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy).
Mario also broke records for video game adaptations (passing Warcraft’s $210 million) and animated films (Frozen 2’s $358 million).
