The Municipality of Chatham-Kent and Waste Connections of Canada Ridge Landfill are hosting another household hazardous waste day.
The drop off is at one central location, Veolia Environmental, at 141 Prosperity Way near Chatham.
Today’s drop off will be from 8-1pm.
These are the household hazardous waste days for 2023:
- Saturday, May 13, 8am-1pm
- Tuesday, June 13, 8am-1pm
- Tuesday, July 11, 8am-1pm
- Tuesday, August 8, 8am-1pm
- Saturday, September 9, 8am-1pm
- Tuesday, October 10, 8am-1pm
- Tuesday, November 14, 8am-1pm
Residents can safely dispose of household hazardous material at no charge. A list of acceptable material can found here.
The Chatham-Kent Public Library hosts Movies @ Your Library every Tuesday at the Chatham branch.

The Toronto Blue Jays will play their first home game of the season tonight at the newly renovated Rogers Centre.
For the first time in the 33 years of the Skydome, errr Rogers Centre, the playing field itself will look different. A $300 million dollar renovation saw the outfield fences moved in and up. The other changes include half-a-dozen new spaces where fans can gather and revel, the replacement of all 500-level chairs with slightly wider seats, and raised bullpens to bring fans closer to the players.
The Tigers face the Jays tonight.
Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment is bringing back tailgating parties for the NHL and NBA post-seasons.
The Raptors play the Bulls in a play in game Wednesday and the Leafs begin the playoffs next week.
Fans will be required to register for a free mobile pass through the team’s mobile apps to be granted access to the tailgate parties.
The tailgating parties are open two hours before each game and close at the end of the second intermission for Maple Leafs and at the end of the third quarter for the Raptors.
Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot is up to $441 million U.S. with a lump sum cash payout of $238.8 million. (or $595 million CAD).
Mega Millions lottery players do not need to be U.S. citizens or residents, meaning Canadians are welcome to purchase tickets.
The easiest way to get enter the Mega Millions draw is to buy a lottery ticket in the States yourself, or get an American friend or family member to purchase a ticket on your behalf. There are also numerous third-party services that claim to buy a ticket on your behalf, but beware of scams.
