The Chatham-Kent Business Summit begins today.
The CK Business Summit is designed for those starting a business, running a business, and ultimately succeeding in business. Everyone is welcome to attend, there is no cost.
The Summit Expo Marketplace will host up to 80 businesses and the lineup of dynamic speakers, also taking place both days in the Speaker’s Lounge, will feature recognizable names speaking about business-focused topics.
Key Note Speaker Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons a CFL Hall of Famer takes the stage tonight and seven-time Paralympic medalist Danielle Campo McLeod on Friday evening.
The CK Business Summit is being held at the Bradley Convention Centre today noon to 6:30 and Friday 9-4.

R.O.C.K Missions is screening a documentary tonight that dives into the harsh reality of Canada’s opioid crisis.
They have partnered with the Chatham-Kent Drug Awareness Council to share the screening of Love in the Time of Fentanyl tonight at Studio One at the Chatham Cultural Centre. The goal is to raise awareness of local opioid use.
Chatham-Kent experienced a 280% increase in opioid-related emergency department visits and a 400% increase in opioid-related deaths between 2016 and 2020.

Netflix is ending its DVD-by-mail business after 25 years. Yes, people ARE still getting DVDs by mail from Netflix. But not for much longer.
The last of those red envelopes will be mailed out September 29th and will have to be returned by October 27th.
Netflix also announced that they’ll be phasing in their “paid sharing” plan in the coming weeks, basically they’re cracking down on password sharing.
Speaking of…
The must-see documentary Netflix vs. the World is free to watch on YouTube. It includes the story about how Blockbuster had the chance to buy Netflix for $50 million. But Blockbuster CEO John Antioco deemed Netflix a niche business and said “the dot-com hysteria is completely overblown.”
The Maple Leafs will be looking for their first win of the Stanley Cup Playoffs tonight when they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning in game 2.
The Leafs lost game 1 7-3. Puck drop is at 7:30 on Sportsnet.
