Cool and breezy to start the day today and more of the same for the long weekend.

Environment Canada calling for highs of 13 for today, 11 Friday and 8 Saturday. Temperatures jump to 17 for Easter Sunday.


Couple of notes for Easter weekend:

  • Garbage and recycling collection will not take place on Good Friday. Pick up will be Saturday. There is no delay for the week following Easter.
  • All Transfer Stations and Leaf & Yard Depots will be closed on Good Friday.
  • All Ride CK Transit services will not operate Friday
  • All arenas are closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday
  • Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will be closed Friday
  • The Beer and liquor store will be closed Friday, reopening on Saturday.

Baseball’s back in Detroit today.

The Tigers home opener is this afternoon against the Boston Red Sox at Comerica Park.

The first pitch is at 1:10pm.

If you’re headed over, the Transit Windsor Tunnel Bus will be running on its regular special events hourly schedule.


The Masters golf tournament begins today.

One of the four major PGA tournaments, and the only one played on the same golf course every year. This is the 86th annual tournament. The winner recieves over $2.7 million dollars and the coveted green jacket. Scottie Scheffler is the defending champ. He’ll attempt to be the first player to repeat as Masters champion since Tiger Woods (2001, 2002)

On the verge of a long weekend and the gas prices are…dropping?

Prices are expected to drop 2 cents per litre today, down to 152.9 on average across the province.

Prices in Ontario peaked at 154.9 cents per litre Wednesday.

Locally, as of 5:30am: Chatham’s at 152.9, Wallaceburg 149, Blenheim 150 and Tilbury at 145.
