The Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign kicks off today until Sunday across Canada.

The chocolate chunk cookie with blue icing eyes and pink frosted smile is $1.50 this year, an increase from past years when it only cost a loonie to buy one. This is the first time the price has increased since the treats were introduced back in 1996.

In Chatham-Kent the money will be directed to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Of Chatham, Chatham-Kent Student Nutrition Program, and the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation.

If you’d like to order a bunch for the office or your school, you can download the pre-order form and submit it to a restaurant near you at least 24 hours prior to pick-up.

Last year’s Smile Cookie campaign raised over $15 million for local charities, hospitals and food banks. $92 million has been raised since the start of the program.

The Smile Cookie program started in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario. Today 625+ local charities and organizations in communities across Canada benefit from Smile Cookie sales.
