The Vegas Golden Knights are Stanley Cup champions.
They beat the Florida Panthers 9-3 at home to win the series in 5 games.
The Golden Knights not only made it to the championship series their first season (2017-2018), they are the first modern day franchise to win the cup so quickly, in only six years of existence. (The Edmonton Oilers won in their fifth season in 1984 with Wayne Gretzky.)
It was also Florida’s second major league championship loss in two days, after the Miami Heat lost in the NBA Finals to the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.
“A devotion to destiny. Misfits to champions.”
“The Vegas Golden Knights win the Stanley Cup in 2023!”
