July 10th is the 191st day of the year. There are 174 days remaining until the end of the year.

There’s a blood donor clinic tomorrow in Dresden at the Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre from 2-7pm.

No walk-in appointments are available. Book your appointment at Blood.ca, call 1-888-2-DONATE or use the apps.

If you’re unable to donate this week, there are two more clinics this month in Chatham, book at Blood.ca.

Sunshine and a high of 30 to start off the week according to Environment Canada.

So far, today and tomorrow are the only days of the week that we’ll hit the 30 degree mark. Rain is possible for the middle of the week, before some sunshine on Friday.

Did you think last week was hot? You were right. Record setting actually.

Last Tuesday set the record at just over 17.17 Celsius (62.9 Farenheit) Wednesday hit the same mark, and then the record was set again on Thursday when it reached 17.63 (62.9F)

The previous record for the Earth’s hottest day was set in July 2022 and in August 2016 when the global temperature reached 16.9 degrees Celsius (62.46F).

The average includes places that are sweltering under dangerous heat — like Jingxing, China, which checked in almost 43.3C/110F and the unusually warm Antarctica, where temperatures across much of the continent were as much as 4.5C/8F above normal last week.

The Toronto Blue Jays won two out of three this weekend against the Detroit Tigers.

But on Saturday, it was three Detroit Tigers pitchers combining to no-hit the Jays in a 2-0 win.

It was the ninth no-hitter in Tigers history and the seventh time in Blue Jays franchise history that the team has been no-hit.

Major League Baseball‘s All Star Break is now underway. All teams are off until Friday.

Now once the Tiger’s season is done, you’ll have a chance to tee off from the upper deck of Comerica Park in downtown Detroit.

Last week Upper Deck Golf announced they will transform the field to a driving range with custom greens on the field. There will be live music, food, and beverage specials as well.

The event will take place over three consecutive days following the end of the Tiger’s season. Tee times will start at 7am and go until 9pm. You will need to book a tee time.

Registration opens in September at UpperDeckGolfing.com/comericapark.
