A multi-day heat event continues for Chatham-Kent
Environment Canada first issued a heat warning on Monday evening and expects it to stay in place until Thursday before cooler air moves in on Friday.
The humidex will hover around 40 on Wednesday.
The risks of extreme heat are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Municipal offices and libraries are open to visit, drink water, and cool off.
Hope Haven is also available for cooling off.
An intermittent road closure is planned on Lacroix Street in Chatham today.
According to the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, Lacroix will be closed on and off from Wellington Street West to King Street West for maintenance.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible as crews complete the work.
The Chatham Concert Band returns to Tecumseh Park tonight for Summer Concerts in the Park.
This is the 96th year of the Summer Concert Series, the show is free beginning at 7 pm.
Parking is still available at the Chatham Cultural Centre, but due to construction on William St., you’ll have to enter the lot from behind. Access to Tecumseh Park will be via the pedestrian access at Stanley Ave.

U-pick is open from 8 am until 5:30 pm at Parks’ over 40 acres of blueberry bushes.
Parks is located on Highway 2, just east of Thamesville.
