Heavy rainfall over the weekend has led to some significant damage at the Civic Centre in Chatham.
According to municipal officials ceiling tiles, computers, office equipment, and furniture on the west side of the building were damaged beyond repair.
For the time being, residents are asked to conduct their municipal business by phone or online whenever possible.
Disaster restoration services are cleaning up and will be on site until the affected areas are suitable for operation.

Stellantis has reached an agreement with the province and the federal government on the construction of the electric vehicle battery plant in Windsor.
Construction had been at a standstill for several months on the $5-billion battery plant as the company negotiated for increased government funding.
Stellantis and LG Energy Solution say construction of the plant would start back up immediately after they reached a binding financing deal with the governments of Canada and Ontario.
