August 11th is the 223rd day of the year. There are 142 days remaining until the end of the year.

It’s WAMBO weekend!

The Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing is one of Canada’s largest transportation shows and features antique boats, classic and specialty cars, firetrucks and motorcycles. There’s also plenty of entertainment throughout the weekend.

Things kick off tonight with the opening ceremony at Wallaceburg Civic Park at 5 p.m.

A full schedule can be found here.

CK Rec continues its Summer Fest Events tonight.

Tonight’s Party and Movie in the Park will be at Ridgetown Kiwanis Park. Party in the Park runs from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. then the movie starts at dusk. Tonight’s movie will be Bossy Baby: Family Business

Summer Fest events are free.

After just a couple of months in service, MegaBus will no longer operate in Chatham-Kent.

In April, the bus company launched a route from Toronto to Detroit, with stops in Windsor, London and Chatham along the way.

However, MegaBus says as of Wednesday, it will discontinue service in Chatham due to lack of ridership.

If you need transportation to Windsor, London or Toronto, you can continue to use VIA Rail service. RideCK provides transit to the Chatham train station using Route 3 and Route 5.

There’s a new class-action settlement millions of Canadians could be eligible for a piece of.

Anyone affected by the LifeLabs cyber attack could get between $50-$150, if the settlement is approved by the courts.

LifeLabs is Canada’s largest lab provider, and if you were a customer of theirs on or before December 17, 2019, you’d be eligible to apply.

If the weather holds out, there will be a chance to see one of the biggest meteor showers of the year this weekend.

The Perseid meteor shower will peak in North America from August 12 to 13, producing up to 100 meteors per hour.

The Perseids have been active since mid-July and will remain visible until September 1, however, the peak will yield the highest rate of meteor activity.

A meteor shower happens when Earth passes through a large cloud of debris in space.  Meteors travel across the sky at 59 kilometers per second.
