It is National Truth and Reconciliation Week in Chatham-Kent.
There are events all week the entire community is welcome to participate in.
Today, there is a walk starting at 495 King St., West (Chatham) to the Civic Centre, beginning at 11:30am. A flag raising and some speakers will begin at 12:30pm.

The Chatham-Kent Public Library hosts Movies @ Your Library every Tuesday at the Chatham branch.

Movies start at 2pm.
The Chatham-Kent Film Group will screen I’m Totally Fine Monday.
Showings at 4 and 7pm. Admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased at the door.
The C-K Film Group screens independent films the first Monday of the month. Screenings are at Chatham Galaxy Cinemas..
The next film screening will be held on Monday, November 6th.
CKRecreation‘s first babysitting course of the fall is coming up in Blenheim on Friday, October 6th.
Open to 11 – 15 year old’s to learn how to be a safe, professional and reliable babysitter.

October 6th is a PA Day for most students in C-K.
The Powerball jackpot has risen to an estimated $835 million after no tickets matched the winning numbers in last night’s draw.
The next drawing will be Wednesday, and it is still set to be the fourth largest prize in the game’s history. If a player wins the jackpot on Wednesday, that person will have a choice between an annuitized prize worth an estimated $835 million or a lump sum payment estimated at $390 million.
The largest Powerball jackpot ever won was a $2.04 billion ticket sold in California in November 2022. Back in July a ticket in California won $1.08 billion.
There are no restrictions that prohibit Canadians from playing the Powerball lottery. Tickets can be bought online.
