The Chatham-Kent Film Group will screen I’m Totally Fine this afternoon.

Showings at 4 and 7pm. Admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased at the door.

The C-K Film Group screens independent films the first Monday of the month. Screenings are at Chatham Galaxy Cinemas..

The next film screening will be held on Monday, November 6th.


Saturday was National Day for Truth and Reconciliation bringing awareness to the legacy of Canada’s residential school system.

Coinciding with Orange Shirt Day, the day is meant to reflect on the residential school system, which aimed to erase cultures, languages and traditions of Indigenous peoples.

The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation is not a statutory holiday in Ontario, but is for federal government workers and federally regulated industries. Some businesses and city services will be operating, while others will not.

Schools are open. Garbage and recyling will not be affected. The Beer Store and LCBO are open. There will be no delivery from Canada Post today.


The Major League Baseball season is done.

The Toronto Blue Jays have made the playoffs. They’ll play the Minnesota Twins in a best-of-three playoff series on Tuesday at 4:38p.m.

The Detroit Tigers finished off the season honouring Miguel Cabrera who has retired.

Cabrera finished his career with two MVP awards, 12 All-Star appearances, and membership in the 500 homer-3,000 hit club. He already has another job lined up, The Tigers announced Friday that he will begin his new role with the team as a special assistant to the president of baseball operations.


The Powerball jackpot has risen again; now up to an estimated $1.04 billion with a lump sum cash payout of $478.2 million after Saturday night’s draw.

The next drawing is tonight. It will be the ninth largest prize in the game’s history.

There are no restrictions that prohibit Canadians from playing the Powerball lottery. Tickets can be bought online.


We can expect summer-like temperatures this week in Chatham-Kent.

Environment Canada is calling for unseasonably warm temperatures before cooling down for the Thanksgiving weekend.

Sun and cloud for today, Tuesday and Wednesday with highs each day of 27C. Temperatures will drop down to 16C over the weekend.
