On Saturday, Santa will be in Ridgetown for the parade at 1, then head to Dresden for their parade at 6.

Speaking of the ice, it’ll be a busy weekend at local arenas…and restaurants and hotels.

The Kent Minor Hockey Association is hosting seven divisions this weekend in the annual Chatham Regional Silver Stick qualifying tournament.

Forty-six teams are scheduled to play Friday to Sunday at Chatham Memorial, Thames Campus, Erickson and Tilbury arenas. The Kent Cobras will have a team entered in each division.

All seven championship games will be played Sunday. Winners advance to the International Silver Stick boys’ finals.


Hanukkah began at sundown last night.

The eight-day Jewish holiday or the festival of lights, is celebrated with a nightly menorah lighting, special prayers and fried foods.

Hanukkah lasts through nightfall on Friday, December 15th.


Pantone has crowned PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz as its 2024 Color of the Year.

The colour brand described the shade of choice as a “velvety gentle peach whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body and soul.”

“Subtly sensual, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a heartfelt peach hue bringing a feeling of tenderness and communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration.”

This is the 25th anniversary of the Pantone Color of the Year program.
